Kedsoft UBAD2007 - NEW VERSION

A update for UBAD 2007 has been placed below (see the table near the bottom of this page).

NOTE: UBAD2007 has not been tested with MS Windows VISTA

Therefore, use of this program with MS Windows VISTA is not supported.

This website will be updated during the year. Downloads for the new version of UBAD2007 program are available from this page. Updates will appear later on an as-needed basis at the bottom of this page.


New features:

  • UBAD2007 has the features that were added during the last year to UBAD2007. This includes the new NECA summary report, the file to be sent to the fund office, improved calculation breakouts on the summary report, simplified selection of your NECA status when preparing monthly hours,and the new EEF fund,

  • New rates have been entered into the rates for all classes.

  • UBAD2007's classes have been renumbered to better group the TeleData classes together. This process of regrouping is likely to be continued in future years. .

  • The calculation NEBF deductions that appear while entering monthly hours (at the bottom of that screen) has been fixed to match the calculations on UBAD2007's reports.

  • Several UBAD classes have been removed. These classes were previously described as "6th Pd Appr (Ind <= 06/01/04)."

  • Address information on the summary report has been changed to reflect new office locations.

    3/9/2007 - Information and Installation instructions for UBAD2007, version 11.0.

    GENERAL INFORMATION:
    THIS IS THE NEW RELEASE FOR THE 2007/2008 year. This release only comes with a FULL INSTALLATION. It is meant to replace any existing version of UBAD2007, if it exists. This means that if you install UBAD2007 more than once, you must uninstall it Before re-installing this version of the program. YOU MUST UNINSTALL ANY PREVIOUS VERSION OF UBAD2007 BEFORE RE_INSTALLING THE PROGRAM.

    Downloading and installing UBAD2007 for the first time will cause the UBAD2007 program to exist on your computer and to appear in your Programs menu. Installation of this program will not versions of UBAD from previous years, such as UBAD2006. As with all recent versions of UBAD, you can import your employees from previous years (see instructions in the manual).

    MANUAL:
    The manual is available in either PDF or MS Word formats. To view the MS Word version, you must have MS Word (version 97 or greater), or some program which understands MS Word documents. To view the PDF version, you must have Adobe's Acrobat Reader program, Ghost Scripts viewer, or some other program that understands PDF files. If you do not have Adobe's Acrobat Reader program and wish to have it, you can download a free version of Adobe's Acrobat Reader program by going to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html and completing the process there.

    UBAD2007 Program
    You can NOW download an executable file which PREPARES TO INSTALL the whole UBAD2007 program plus. The file which you download will extract the installation files to a directory on your hard drive.

    There are a few steps to installing UBAD2007:
    1. Download and run the file from this website (remember where you download the file to so that you can run it!).
    2. By default (automatically), the files will be extracted to C:\UBAD2007. You are allowed to change the place to which you extract the files.
    3. After the files are extracted onto your harddrive, run INSTALL.exe to actually install the current version of the UBAD2007 program. If you do not do both of these steps (2 and 3), the program is not yet installed.

    If you successfully complete both of these steps, you should find the UBAD2007 program in your Programs menu, which is available by clicking on the Start button in MS Windows.

    Helpful hints in case you experience difficulties while installing UBAD2007:

    • If you go through the prescribed steps to install UBAD2007 and receive errors during the installation (and when you try to run the program), it is possible that you may have to turn off your virus protection software to properly complete the installation. Another possibility is that you may have to install the program in "Safe Mode," also because of virus detection software. If you experience errors when installing the program, you can assume that the program will not run properly. In this case, it needs to be Uninstalled and then re-installed either without your antivirus software or with your computer running in safe mode. If you have a system administrator or an IT administrator in your company, you may want to check with this individual.

    • If your computer runs on a network and you do not have administrative rights to your workstation, your administrator may have to install the software for you.

    • This comment is for those of you who download the files, rather than running the installation from your browser):
      • When you download the Ubad2007.exe and/or any of the updates, store it on your local harddrive in a location that you can easily find (in case you need to re-run the installation at some later time). This is particularly important if you have a modem connection to the internet.

    About UBAD version 11.0:

    Version 11.0 is the current version of the UBAD2007 program for the 2007/2008 year. This full version includes all changes indicated in the updates listed on the update section of this page. It is intended only for those who are installing UBAD2007 for the first time or for those who wish to re-install UBAD2007 without saving any data..

    • After you click on the link above, you will be taken to a different page from which the file should be automatically downloaded. Once you have finished downloading or installing the file, you can return to that page and click on the Back arrow (or press the backspace key) to return to RST's UBAD page.


    • Please be sure NO VERSION OF UBAD IS RUNNING when you install the program or any updates. Do not download and install the program until you have downloaded and read the manual.


    • If you decide to re-install the program, be sure to unintstall the existing version before re-installing the program. Uninstalling the program will remove any data you have entered, because it removes all UBAD files.


    To Install Updates: AS OF 1/25/08 THERE ARE UPDATES FOR UBAD2007
    For updates, scroll down to the grid below. For the original UBAD2007 install, click on the file link above where it says DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM. Install the original program, then download and install any upgrades. Double click on the file ito install it and press Unzip. Please note that the update assumes that the UBAD program was installed to the default location of C:\UBAD2007. If you did not install the program in the default location, you will need to type in the path where the UBAD program resides otherwise the updated files will not be placed in the correct location.

    About Updates: (There are now updates to UBAD2007, ver. 11-1 Updates are normally intended to install modifications to the program without disturbing your data, such as the members' names and the monthly hours you've entered. Special instructions normally help you to install updates. Usually, update files will have "zipped" files which are extracted by a program called WinZip (the program used to store all of the update files in a single file).

1/24/2008 01/28/2008 - NEW UPDATES for UBAD2007
The latest update installs some new rates and fixes a minor calculation error in one of the reports. Install this update on top of your existing ubad 2007 installation.
Instructions:
Right-click on the link you see to the right to download the file. After downloading this file, called Ubad2007-Ver11-1.exe, you will need to double-click on it to run the program. It will automatically place new files in your C:\ubad2007 directory. DO NOT UNINSTALL THE OLD VERSION OF UBAD2007 before installing this update!

Do make sure that you are not running UBAD 2007 while trying to install these updates.

After you download and double-click on Ubad2007-Ver11-1.exe, you will see a new window with some buttons. To instlall the updates, click on the Unzip button. When it is done with the installation, you can click on the Close button to exit the Winzip installation software. You should then be ready to run UBAD2007 again.

Warning! Any custom rates that you have entered will be overwritten with this update. You will have to re-enter these monthly rates if you wish to continue to use them. Also, reports for past months that include custom UBAD classes or rates you have entered will print incorrectly. This is because the ID number that UBAD uses for these records for new rates. If you encounter this problem, return to the affected month's entries and re-assign the appropriate contractors to the correct UBAD classes. Your report should then be correct.

03/11/2007 This description relates to the full install version of 10.4. There is no update. Fixes glitches associated with version 10.3 full install (error message occurs when saving hours). Also fixes errors associated with both:

1. Those using custom UBAD classes

2. Those using the non-NECA option when setting up their monthly reporting. A more full description of the changes is above in the description of the full UBAD2007 version 10.4 release.

No updates to download with version 10.4. Only a full install, requiring an uninstall of earlier versions of UBAD2007.
02/27/2007 Changes to the NECA report, changes to UBAD rates nummbers 259, 262, and 265. Changes were also made to how one selects ones status as a NECA contractor, on the Contribution Report Information form. The choices were once numeric.

The question of one's NECA status has changed to: "Are you a Rochester NECA Contractor?" The choices for answers to the question are now: No, Yes - Rochester, or Yes - Other.

Special Instructions:
After downloading this update this update and double clicking on the downloaded file, you will be prompted to "unzip" the files to the c:\ directory rather than the c:\UBAD2007 directory. That is normal for this installation. If your files are located on a different hard drive than the c: drive, change the c: to the appropriate letter (ex. d:). Then proceed with unzipping the files, and close the program when you are finished.

Ubad2007 ver. 10.3 update will overwrite the file containing rate information. As a result, any custom rates you have entered will need to be re-entered if you wish to continue to use them. If you print reports from months prior to February 2007, they will be affected by the rate changes in the rate table installed with this update. Additionally, reports for any prior months will not print properly if there are hours using custom rates and you do not re-enter these rates before printing.

UBAD2007 ver. 10.3 Update (recommended) - (now extinct)
09/26/2007 Changes to file exporting procedure, changes to rounding, required rate changes relating to benefits, changes to some subtotals on the summary report, minor cosmetic changes.

This update is required before update 10.3. It is only meant to update an older version of UBAD2007 (either version 10.0 or 10.1). It should not be installed over the full installation of version UBAD2007 version 10.3

This update obviates the version 10.1 update, as all improvements since version 10.0 are included. This update, as in all updates here, requires that UBAD2007 is already installed.

Special Instructions:

After downloading this update this update and double clicking on the downloaded file, you will be prompted to "unzip" the files to the c:\ directory rather than the c:\UBAD2007 directory. UBAD2007 ver. 10.2 Update (required before installing update 10.3 - now extinct)
07/11/2007 Minor change to EEF field when adding a class. Shows % instead of $ character. Not a necessary update. If you download version 10.1 of UBAD2007, the change is incorporated. If you download this upgrade, when you doubleclick on the file, it will extract 2 files to your c:\UBAD2007\APPS directory. If you installed UBAD in another location, correct the path. UBAD2007 ver. 10.1 Update (now extinct)
